• 02.03.2024 Auckland New Zealand Day 2/3

    3. Februar 2024 in Neuseeland ⋅ ☁️ 61 °F

We were pretty lazy this morning and had a late breakfast. It is a high of 70 today, windy and rain off and on.
We caught the ferry and go to explore Devonport.
Per Google: Devonport is a relaxed bayside village with upscale cafes and seafood restaurants, as well as classic Kiwi pubs and fish and chips shops. Small boutiques and art dealerships line Victoria Road, while Devonport and Cheltenham beaches draw crowds. The volcanic cone of North Head has harbour views and underground army tunnels. Hikers also climb Mount Victoria, passing reservoir vents decorated as mushrooms.
Devonport hop on hop off bus was not running so we walked around for awhile, grabbed lunch and caught the ferry back to the ship.
The ferries are so clean and such an easy way to island hop.
We then headed into the CBD (Central Business District) and purchased hop on hop off tickets for two days . We rode the complete route which was had great commentary.
When we left the bus we bought tickets to the Sky Tower and proceeded to the 60th floor for amazing views of Auckland.
On our way back to the ship we stumbled upon the oldest brew pub in New Zealand that was established in 1898.
Dinner was small plates of fish tacos and sweet and spicy shrimp at Reign and Pour.
It was a great but long day.
