• An Un-Belizeable Day Of Snorkelling

    March 13 in Belize ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Today we dove into a new day with Ragga Sailing Adventures, exploring three memorable snorkelling spots in the crystal waters of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve.- Coral Gardens, Shark and Ray Alley, and Tarpon View. This 5 hour excursion was a totally un-Belizeable experience, one that will stand out for a long time. The guides snorkelled alongside us in small groups pointing out where to see the large variety of marine life and giving us the names to go with all of our discoveries. On top of that they fed us a delicious lunch, two yummy snacks and poured us some celebratory golden rum punch once we were on our way back to Caye Caulker. It was an hour long trip so some folks were mighty happy disembarking. Our Captain even blew a conch shell to put icing on the cake. Hol Chan Marine Reserve is the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere full of vibrant coral formations and marine life such as sea turtles, nurse sharks, manatees, a variety of rays, barracudas and a collection of colourful fish species, all of which we witnessed today. As always here on the island, the sunset was spectacular as we witnessed from our dinner on the rooftop of Elba’s Little Kitchen where we ate conch fritters and seasoned red snapper filets.Read more
