Cape Town to Victoria Falls

Today we entered into the pristine wilderness area of the Okavango Delta. The polers selected the location of our camp and set it all up for us while we ate lunch. We were completely isolated and amongst whatever animals roamed the area. It was easily 100 degrees so we hung out under a tree in the shade until late afternoon and then the polers led a 2.5 hour wilderness walk. They had no weapons to protect us, just a homegrown sense of the behaviours of the animals of the area. We returned to camp just as the sun was setting. Trust prepared our dinner and we ate by the campfire, ever watchful for what might roam our way. Two hippos were spotted just before the entertainment began as the polers danced and serenaded us . They even taught us a few moves and we joined them in a few verses of their rendition of Beautiful Africa. As we turned into our tents for the night we we warned to stay in our tents and if we had to get up, to shine our torch to scan for eyes shining back at us and to listen for movement.
