• Melide to Arzua

    June 5 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Did I mention that Melide is known for the octopus. Gotta try the octopus - pulpo - in Melide! It usually is served boiled. I thought I’d switch things up and have mine grilled, served in oil and garlic. It was very good!

On to Arzua. It was 5C when I started walking. Today will be the coolest day thus far. Fine for walking. I had two thin layers on and I was sweating from the exertion of the walk. The sun danced behind the trees and warmed me from time to time.

The walk today had steeper inclines and declines. Not much road walking. I mean, very little. I’m reminded of the Portuguese Camino, the interior route between Porto and Tui, as a contrast to this Sarria-Santiago route, it seemed like the Portuguese route was mostly road walking with the occasional wooded path. I prefer the Spanish camino. Most of the path takes you beside farmland and through dark woods. The trees provide a lot of cover when it’s drizzling. Luckily, no rain today.

A couple more days and we’ll be in Santiago.
