    October 21, 2023 in the Netherlands ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

It’s finally time to head back to London. I’m soooooo excited but it still feels a bit surreal. This is the second time I’m going to London all by myself so I know what to expect. Only this time I’m going to dance my heart out. I’ve seen the city, now it’s time to dance.

To be honest I’m a bit scared, the London dance industry is super intense and next level. But I’m sure it’s going to be a week for the books. I’m going to open up and collect as many information as I can.

Today was a long day. I left home at 9:30 to make my way to Amsterdam to work at a dance studio and prep everything for the event they were organizing tonight. After that I left to go to Eindhoven airport to catch the airplane. It was not busy at ALL. So I made it through security under 15 minutes. I even had to check in my bag. Which was super weird by the way, it was a self service, but how weird seeing your suitcase go without any employee nearby.

The one thing I’m a little bit nervous about is if my luggage will arrive alright, but I’m sure it will be fine.
I’m super tired but also excited. Can’t wait to check in to the hostel tonight and get a good sleep before an awesome week.
It feels weird going alone. But I love it. I know I will find my way around. I have done that before. I think it feels weird because it’s the first time since I moved back to my parents that I’m actually gonna be alone again. So much happend and I think this week, spending some alone time is gonna be perfect to process life lately 😂

I can’t stop smiling and can’t wait to get out of this airplane lol

    October 21, 2023 in England ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Everything went soooo smoothly. Only a little bit delay during departure.

We landed in like 40 minutes. It was super quick, I keep forgetting that. After we landed I quickly made my way through passport control, I didn’t even had to wait, and grabbed my suitcase. Which was literally coming my way on the band as i made my way to it. I made my way over to the Stansted express, I still knew where to go which was kind of insane tho. I got on and the train departed in 7 minutes or so. I changed at Tottenham hale to the underground and even that went smoothly. There were a lot of drunk people on it tho. And also I had really forgotten how hot it can be in the underground. Jeez I was sweating my ass off.

After that I found my way out of king cross and made my way too the hostel. I felt a bit weird walking there with a large suitcase at like 9 pm. But I found it. I did have some struggles with finding the entrance tho. I got checked in and as I walked up I was thinking that I would definitely upgrade to a private room tomorrow, I just didn’t really liked the thought of having roommates all the time and being social. But I promised myself that I needed to check them out frist before making a decision like that.

Turned out I had this amazing roommate from Australia who was going to be here all week with me. She is an actor and just finished a contract in Canada. She also loves musicals so that was already super positive. I was unpacking a bit as we chatted and we instantly shared a lot of common things which was insane and awesome.

There also was one other roommate but he was still working but Izzy told me he was nice tho.

So I went to sleep with a comfortable feeling.

    October 22, 2023 in England ⋅ ☀️ 8 °C

The first night was a succes. Even though I woke up super early due to the different timezone. But that was nice! I quickly grabbed my stuff, took a shower and went for a walk. I felt a bit weird waking up in London, since I didn't really saw anything last night. It felt so surreal. I felt super happy.

I had one goal; to eat breakfast at the where the pancakes are. Fav spot to eat pancakes. I quickly found my way (it was a 20 minute walk or so) so I got a spot at the bar. Thank god I came alone cus they were fully booked. I ordered some pancakes and I enjoyed reading my book at my iPad. I ordered a continental breakfast but they forgot my OJ so I asked them about it. It was a huge step for me because I always hate confronting ppl with their mistakes. But I was craving a OJ so I asked for it. Turned out it was no point at allll but it was such a big thing in my head lol. Felt super proud that I said something about it tho.

After my delicious breakfast it was only 9:30 AM, the city was quiet. It felt like everyone was still as sleep. It was sssooooo nice walking around. I walked towards Oxford circus and turned in on regent st. after that I crossed Piccadilly Circus to head towards Leicester sq. I always know my way in London, but it was more than a year ago. So much had changed, but so much hadn't. At 11 ish I felt tired, but that wasn't weird because I was walking alll morning. So I decided to hop into this cute little café to look at what my next step was. Drunk some coffee and did some reading. The table next to me was dutch and they were talking a lot but I found it funny since they didn't know I could understand them.

After my little coffee break I went over to the inspiration of diagon alley which was just down the street. Sadly all bookstores were closed except for one which was a manifesting/spiratiual bookstore. lately I've been kind of interested in those things so it was fun to look at all the stuff. After that I walked across Convent Garden to find a supermarket, to get some food and walked back to the hostel. It was only noon but I had managed 10000 steps already. I felt a bit sore already and decided that it was better to take some rest before heading into a four hour intensive.

    October 22, 2023 in England ⋅ 🌙 13 °C

I found my way to kings cross around 12 ish and got in to the subway to Finsbury park. I had never been there before so I took some time to walk around. Got a quick snack at Mark and Spencers and walked around for a bit. My feet were hurting so I decided to go to the park and find a cute spot to eat my snack, but turned out there were no benches at all. So walked all the way back and made my way to the studio.

Apparently the studio didn't existed that long yet! So it was super new and clean and fresh. which was amazing! The intensive took four hours and I never did so much heels before. But it was good working on technique as well instead of only choreography which I usually do. I forgot to bring some knee pads and I was wearing shorts so that was I bit of a disaster, but it turned out okay.

After the class I met up with a friend (Lois) I know from The Netherlands, she was doing another class at the studio and we decided to grab a bite together, which was super nice.

After a good dinner I went back to the hostel, took a great shower and chilled in my bed.
