    Day one in Quito

    The first thing that we did today is go to a huge church called Basilica del Voto Nacional.
    After that we walked to a city square. There were so many people mingling and going places, it was unlike anything I ever seen. Next we went to the most beautiful church I have ever been to called Compañía. The next thing we did was go on a gondola and went up to mount Pinchincha. Lastly we went to an amazing Bible study led by youth pastor David. It was really amazing to meet all the people in the Bible study and get to know them. God taught me to have patience and even when people don’t speak the same language as you do it doesn’t mean that you can’t interact with them.

    The first day of us being in Ecuador was so much fun! We started off by going to the Basilica. It was so big and had so many cool features. We then headed to La plaza de la Independencia. It was really cool (and also) big. We shortly after I walked to La iglesia de la compañía. It was filled with gold and totally breath taking. We went above the city on a gondola and looked at Quito from above. We ended the night with a youth group.     Kachiguañuska

    Today was so amazing! We started off by going to Kachiguañuska; a school deeper in the jungle to hold a VBS. When we arrived you could see all the kids faces light up. We got to meet all of the kids and they were so excited to talk to us. We sung songs and had a fun introduction before breaking into stations. I was in the game group so I got to play games with all of the children and teach them fun games such as ultimate frisbee with an american football. A lot of the kids wanted to hold our hands and it was adorable. I had a chain of about 5 kids holding my hand at once and it was so great! Listening to all of their laughs had me smiling all day long. After, we then got to go to Antioch Christian Academy and see the amazing work there that the missionaries have been doing. Listening to how much they have accomplished is such short time with other mission teams helped was so inspiring. We got to work on 2 of the houses that are being built for long term missionaries to live while they are at the academy. When we got back we had time to go swim in the river which was GREAT after sweating all day. Today was a huge eye opener and I thank God so much for putting all of this on my heart and giving me the experience.     Kachiguañuska day two

    Today we went back to Kachiguañuska for a second day with the school kids. We were able to use two classrooms today which made crafts and the lessen much more effective. The theme and focus was the prodigal son today. We sang together, memorized a verse, made some crafts, played games, and shared the glorious gospel. This is a government school with over 100 kids that shut down for two days and let us come in and let do this with them. What a huge privilege.

    After lunch we went back to Antioquia and worked on a house again so that one of the missionary families can have a place to live. This was another great time for the team to serve and be a small part this growing ministry.    Leggi altro

    Last day in Misualli

    Hola Lake Almanor,

    Today is our last day in Mishaulli. We’ve been working with Atioch, a local school in Mishaulli Ecuador for the past two days. This morning we worked on one of the missionaries’ future homes: sanding, spreading cement, and sealing the cement... After a great Ecuadorian lunch we headed off to a waterfall and hiked about 45 minutes to swim. We hiked back in the rain and got taxis to our hotel, then headed for the river by Mishaulli and took a canoe ride downstream. We ended the day with another awesome meal and packed our bags to leave for Quito the next morning. We’re having a great time here in Ecuador serving. We’re excited to see what the rest of the trip will bring!!

    SHELL..BAÑOS...BACK TO QUITO

    While today was mainly filled with travel time on the bus, we were able to spend the time looking at three different types of geography; rainforest, cloud forest, and valley. It was an amazing illustration of the beauty God made in 6 short days! We were blessed with a trip to the house of Nate Saint! It was eye opening to hear how the death of five men from spears led to the conversion of some of the Waorani. Even more, this group of previously unreached people stopped their killing because Jesus was the one who received the final spearing! Overall, we have had the opportunity to bond and see how swing Gods work is!!!Leggi altro

    Carmen Bajo

    Hey y’all. We had an amazing day today at Carmen Bajo with Pastor Fabian. We got to work at the church for a few hours and then share lunch and some time with the youth group in the afternoon. Nicole and Seth shared their testimonies and did a really good job. We also worshipped together and heard testimonies from a few people at Carman Bajo. After lunch we got to work a little more at the church and then went to dinner at Grace and Fabian’s house. We made it back to the apartment where we are staying at about 9:30.
