We pulled into LA about 20 minutes late and I was absolutely starving because I had been up for hours with nothing but a little pastry on board the train to eat.

Fortunately the train station is about a 5-minute walk from an LA institution! This is the home of the French dip sandwich.

I walked back to eat in the private lounge in the train station that is reserved for sleeper car passengers.Read more
