    I have been dying to get to this place, not because of the pink lake, but because of the algae pools that are in the centre of the lake.

    Hutt lagoon is a salt lake home to the world’s largest micro-algae production facility.

    The lake’s iconic pink colouring is a result of the algae production, which produces beta-carotene, a food-colouring agent.

    The pools look amazing from the air, like tubs of ice cream, it just amazes me to look them, they just don’t look real.
