• Steep Point - Day 3

    May 19, 2021 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Kat and I had been hanging to get to Shelter Bay and what a day. We got there and could not believe our eyes it was just stunning. The water was crystal clear and such beautiful shades of blue.

Kat, the kids and I combed the beach for shells and then Brax nagged Brett to get a rod down. Brett was not keen as he had packed all the gear up, but Brax would not let up, so Brett got him one. No sooner then Brax had his line in the water, he had caught a flathead. It felt like every cast he caught a fish and they just kept getting bigger. Of course then Lachlan wanted a turn, first cast he was on too. Uncle Shaun had been sitting in the chair holding a sleeping Byron, but when he saw the kids catching fish after fish he couldn’t contain himself, he dumped Bryon in his car seat and grabbed his rod! It was hysterical, Brax would not let Uncle Shaun use his soft plastics so uncle Shaun had to use a different type and it took him a bit longer to get onto the fish, but he got there in the end.

We left Shelter bay with an esky full of Blue Line Emperor and Flathead, what a fun filled couple of days, I am not going to miss the tent though!
