• Johnsons Canyon

    6 augusti 2024, Kanada ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Waking up in Lake Louise put us nice and close to one of the most popular places to visit in Banff National Park. While Johnson’s Canyon is one of many gorges with waterfalls around the area, it has become a key tourist stop. It was forecast rain for the day so we had hoped it would reduce the crowds. We arrived before 8am and made our way up the well formed boardwalk. Thankful to get it without to many people. From the Upper falls a less formed path continued on another 5kms. At the end we found the ink pots, appropriately named after the vibrant blue and green colours that are found in these open water springs.

Fortunately we made it back to the van before it started raining. From here we drove back into Banff to set up with our laptops for the rest of the day at a cafe. The next day we had planned to drive to Calgary and catch up with Carmela and Luna. So an easy overnight in Banff worked out perfectly.
