• An amazing day.. Alice Springs to Uluru

    December 13, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Up early & on the bus .. there were just 4 passengers on a 50 seater.. sat at the front for a perfect view of long straight roads.. we turned right and left twice in 6ths of travelling. Started on the main Darwin to Adelaide Road then after a stop at a local watering hole turned on to the road for Uluru.. we saw camels , budgies & other birds, no kangaroos though. It had rained recently so there was plenty of green & even some water in the rivers., we stopped off at Mount Conner & looked at a salt flat,,no picture does this justice.. you can see why they call this the red zone, the earth is red everywhere…the drivers also kept us informed about the cattle stations, some of the farms are over 1000,000 hectares..it was such an amazing journey, but I did drop off once or twice.. out side temp was 38/9. Arrived at hotel, little swim in the pool, & then a nap before going out for the field of light dinner & sunset at Uluru .Read more
