• Montagne d‘Ambre Natural Park

    Afternoon walk in the National Park of „Montagne d’ambre“, the first NP in Madagascar. Before it became a National park it was the private forest of a french couple, who imported trees from all over the globe (eucalypthus, pines and others)
    Beside an incredible landscape, we could observe several animal species like:
    - Geko (a small, gray, painting himself like the tree)
    - Upupa
    - Elephant hears Camalion
    - 4 Sanford brown leamur 🥰
    - Rubin bird
    - Fisherman bird
    - Micro Camelion (3rd smallest in the world)
    And some special plants among the whole beauty:
    Pandanis (huge palms)
    Dracena (tronchetto della felicità - „Hashina“, sacred plant with a special meaning for Madagassi, to be planted north-east of a new-built hause)
    Kana indica (a dark red flower)
    Felce arborea
    Kenkina - (red- leaves huge tree) from which kinino is extracted (used againt Malaria)
    Coleotrip (comelina) which leaves becomes violet when it blossom, to attract insects
