• Arthur's Pass

Today we started making our way over to the west coast of the south island. We started off with a scenic drive down the coast from Kaikoura and then dove inland just shy of Christchurch to cross through Arthur's Pass. We were worried that the forecasted rain would mean the views were all socked in and the driving more treacherous, but we ended up having sun until about the last 10km of the drive. It was beautiful! I took a lot of photos through the windshield on the camera and will add those later. Upon arrival we decided to do a quick waterfall hike before making dinner. We donned our matching rain jackets for the first time and set off for Devil's Punchbowl Falls! The waterfall comes into view nearly from the trailhead before climbing a lot of stairs to reach the base!Read more
