We flew from SanJose del Cabo and our grandchildren from Greenville, SC. Arrived within 30min of each other.
Took taxi to the hotel, and since we all were starving went to the closest restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, Boris decided to rest and three of us went for a walk and did some errands. I had to stop at the pharmacy to get my meds, then at the post service to ship some stuff and then to another pharmacy to buy vitamins.
Joshua and I went for another walk and Eve decided to go for a run.
In the evening she found a hot yoga studio near by and has one hour of yoga. Must be nice to be young.
But now, it’s time for rest. Tomorrow, we are getting on our ship.Les mer

After two days at sea, we arrived to the place Boris and I spent 5 weeks prior to this cruise.
We booked a deep fishing tour with the guy two weeks ago. He told us to call him when we get on the tender boat. Which we did multiple times, only to hear his Spanish answering machine. We left him a message.
We waited for a while thinking that he might show up and then hired another guy.
Being on the boat and in the ocean, we got a call from him . Too late.

In about an hour…first Mahi Mahi. I had to pull it. It was so heavy, it almost pulled me.
The guy had to help me. The fish was huge.
Another hour later, kids pulled another Mahi Mahi. Smaller than the first one, but still huge.
This one we took to a restaurant and they cooked it for us. Delicious.
Boris and Eve went back on the ship. Josh and I walked to a resort for a swim and a hot tub. Now it’s time for dinner.Les mer

La Paz, Mexico

Our previous plan was to swim with Whale Sharks in La Paz, but the weather was a little cool and Josh and I have some signs of cold. We decided just to walk around the town and go for a lunch.
We have never been in La Paz before. The area of Malecon, which is 5 miles long is very pleasant, clean and walkable. The old town is also nice. After walking for few hours and visiting Art Museum, we stopped for a delicious lunch and took a shuttle bus back to the ship.Les mer

Loreto is a city on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, on the Gulf of California. Its colonial buildings include the Misión de Nuestra Señora de Loreto, a 17th-century church. Off the coast, the islands and waters of Bahía de Loreto National Park are home to dolphins, whales and pelicans. The city is backed by the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range.

For today, we decided to explore the town, walk the Malocon, eat ceviche and spent time on the beach.Les mer

Mazatlan, Mexico

Mazatlán is a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. It is located on the Pacific coast across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula.

For today, I booked a private tour of the city and, as it was described, lunch at the resort.
We arrived pretty late in the day, so by the time we meet our guide, it was 10:30am. The traffic to reach the city was extremely heavy. We drove along very beautiful Molecon lined up with sculpture to the city, We stopped for 15 min to see divers.
Another stop was 30 min in the city to visit
We stopped at The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Mazatlán Cathedral Is the main religious building in the city of Mazatlan, Mexico, and home of the Catholic Diocese of Mazatlan.

After another 40 min drive, we arrived on extremely busy beach to eat our lunch. The promised resort was not what we expected.
The lunch was served on shaky plastic tables with plastic chairs.

After consuming some food, we drove back to the ship.

Before boarding the ship, Eve had a chance to try few drinks. Highlight of the day.Les mer

For a change of activity and to entertain kids, I booked Chocolates and truffles making class.
As soon as we arrived in the port, we took a taxi to the center of the city. It took us only few minutes. Then we walked Malecon, had very good coffee and found Chocolate Museum where the class was scheduled at 10:30AM.
The class was lots of fun, we made a lot of chocolate candy with ganache and truffles. We also ate lots of yummy chocolate and took all our candy with us.
We took taxi back to the ship.Les mer

We took a taxi to the beach and had a nice day. The beach was very crowded. At 12:30, the same taxi picked us up and took us back to the ship.
In the evening we had a delicious New Year dinner, but made only to 10:00pm.
There are two sea days ahead of us before kids will fly home.Les mer
