Sudley Castle & Winchcombe

We explored more of the town of Winchcombe and the Sudley Castle and its extensive estate grounds and gardens. Had a great picnic lunch and managed to get 9.5 miles of walking in today even though we weren’t walking to the next town. We’ll eat breakfast with our lovely hostess here at the Zen Cottage and visit with an Australian walker who is getting ready to go to Portugal to walk a Camino. She is an avid lifetime travel walker and has so many experiences to share. After breakfast we’ll hop in a taxi and get dropped off at the start of our next leg which is Cheltenham to Birdlip. It’s a beautiful full moon tonight so we took a walk along the Cotswold Way after wonderful East Indian cuisine. This is our second such restaurant and we are loving the flavors and wholesome ingredients. Ah, another outstanding day. Should be rain off and on for the next 4-5 days so I am prepared for poncho activated frizzy hair.Read more
