Victoria Park and Meg's monkey challenge

As we arrived too early to check-in directly to our hotel room, we dropped off our bags and started to explore the city.

Victoria Park is a great place for kids from toddler to pre-teen to enjoy some fun skill-building and play. On this day, Meg was absolutely determined to get across the monkey bars - even exhausted and jet-lagged. Several tens of tries later and with constant encouragement from Poppy, she finally made it! Of course, there was also the motivational factor of the championette monkey-bar-crosser “watermelon-helmet” girl who looked like she was about 4 that no doubt helped fuel her determination.

Other highlights included the really nice micro-lakes for slow and fast RC boat racing, as well as the mysterious black path of deliberately arranged pointed rocks that you were supposed to walk over without your shoes?!
