    Victoria Park and Meg's monkey challenge

    As we arrived too early to check-in directly to our hotel room, we dropped off our bags and started to explore the city.

    Victoria Park is a great place for kids from toddler to pre-teen to enjoy some fun skill-building and play. On this day, Meg was absolutely determined to get across the monkey bars - even exhausted and jet-lagged. Several tens of tries later and with constant encouragement from Poppy, she finally made it! Of course, there was also the motivational factor of the championette monkey-bar-crosser “watermelon-helmet” girl who looked like she was about 4 that no doubt helped fuel her determination.

    Other highlights included the really nice micro-lakes for slow and fast RC boat racing, as well as the mysterious black path of deliberately arranged pointed rocks that you were supposed to walk over without your shoes?! We all did it and let’s just say - not the most highly recommended part of Victoria Park.
