    Hong Kong high rises

    January 8, 2019 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Wow Hong Kong is huge! We arrived yesterday afternoon and went to Central Kowloon to do some exciting shopping. Never seen streets like this before! Adam has been exploring various chicken street food stalls today while I went to meet a work client for a couple of hours. Very dull but I got picked up and dropped off in a brand new tesla with gull wing doors so totally worth it! We are off to the Victoria Peak this evening by tram to get a view over the city ☺Read more

    The light show

    March 20, 2019 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

A hazy start to the day so spent some time around Central square visiting the gardens, the cathedral, shopping malls and walked along next to the peers. In the evening we went back to the Avenue of the stars in Kowloon to watch the light show that takes place every evening on the skyscrapers. Lots of people were there to watch and it was a good atmosphere.Read more

    Hong Kong 2

    October 20, 2017 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

    14.1 km gestapt.

    Hongkong Style Times Square

    January 7, 2018 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Read more

    10. Travelläum & 28. Geburtstag

    October 5, 2018 in Hong Kong ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

The next month of travelling is over. 10 months ago we have started our trip. In the last month we travelled through Mongolia and China. Especially Mongolia and the desert Gobi was one of the best things we have done on our trip. China had awesome nature, but annoying, crowded cities. All the last month was full of new impressions.

But today we have celebrated Janine's birthday as well, with a burger in Hong Kongs Hard Rock Cafe :)

    Star Ferry Hafenrundfahrt

    March 28, 2019 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

    Hong Kong Part 1

    April 21, 2018 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

I had a great time working together with my English collegues from Shanghai, Bejing, Chiang Mai, Tokyo and Seoul. Met some really awesome people who were great to work and to spend some quality time with. Funnily, one turned out to have studied in Kiel at the same time as I (though we only knew each other from sight) and another one had lived in Hannover and worked in Hildesheim before moving to Shanghai 7 years ago. We'd definately met and have some common aquaintances. The world is such a small place.
Hong Kong has changed a lot since I was here in 2000 but it's definately a great place to discover. Still a mix of old and new, west and east, clean and dodgy. Though we worked most of the time of my stay there I did get the chance to do some sight seeing. We also checked out the party zone of the city. How strange it felt to have a drink in the middle of the street.

    The last hop

    January 11, 2019 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Onto our last stop before home as we fly to Singapore today. We spent our last day in Hong Kong exploring the Tai Hang quarter and Victoria Park. These are much quieter than the city centre and full little streets and local eateries. Following another handy hint from online we found a rooftop of mall to sit and watch the skyline for the evening. The city is full of expensive rooftop bars but we have no outfits deemed appropriate for their dress code so we brought our own snacks and wine to our free rooftop instead. We have loved this city but it does truly never sleep!Read more

    Hello Hong Kong

    March 18, 2019 in Hong Kong ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

Time to say goodbye to Hanoi & Vietnam. Sad to leave Vietnam but ready to leave Hanoi - just too polluted. We had a taxi to the airport for a 10.30am flight with Vietnamese Airlines. The flight time was only 1.5 hours so we were impressed to be served lunch with a drink and coffee in that time. Caught the MTR express to Hong Kong Island and then the metro close enough to walk to the hotel - all so impressively efficient. After checking in our first stop was the bakery we went to every morning last time we were here - so happy it is still here.Read more
