Tanah Lot dining options

Woo! Café Grüezi at Tanah Lot! Who’da thunk?! We didn’t end up eating there but did quiz an unfortunate member of the serving team about the origins of the eatery’s name - and he actually knew that it was a Swiss greeting! Impressive!

Being a bit ambivalent about Luwak Coffee - the poor animals are sometimes caged up and made to suffer both in captivity and also on a diet of little more than the coffee beans that they are famous for pooping out more flavourfully - we were pleased to see at least this one fat, happy Luwak hanging out with his batty friend and owner at this café.

We actually ate at Warung Orange, where the signature snack is a hacked open young coconut beverage. It was rather so-so from the perspective of flavour, temperature (very warm! although they can add ice) but it was pretty cool to watch the dude hack the fresh coconuts open with his machete!Read more
