Immigration Museum and back to Docklands

    May 22, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

What's not to love about the Melbourne Docklands! It's got a good selection of down-to-earth shops, restaurants, cafés, gelateria, an awesome playground, a welcoming waterfront - something for everyone - just wish we had the metabolism to taste a bit of everything!

Great to see the kids playing together and having a ball! Love Davy's first reaction to the harness-free (or at least very lightweight) window cleaning team - at least there appears to be little risk of academic snobbery running through his side of the family.

Also passed through the Immigration Museum this afternoon. For starters we'll have to go again after the tattoo exhibit starts on Friday (got our dates mixed up). The museum showcases stories about immigrants and the indigenous peoples of Australia. It is a really friendly place for exploring inclusiveness and discrimination, and also learning about the evolution of Australian immigration policy during the 1900's.
