    Vending machines and noodles

    June 30, 2019 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Once inside, we learned how to order from the automated vending machine (one for small bills, another for large; put the money in first, then you can place an order; yes, they do give change!) using a combination of Japanese language symbol, price and picture matching. The food came quickly, was hot and tasty - if a bit salty for our liking.

Our increasing proficiency using food vending machines came in handy the next night at justifiably popular ramen chain Afuri (where Poppy was offered a disposable bib instead of a napkin) and on the streets by day to procure refreshments to get us to our next destinations.
