    The next day, we had booked tickets for entry into the Palace at 10 am. The palace was is Baroque throughout; that was the style at the time of the French Revolution in 1789 . Notables were the Hercules Room, the Salon of Abundance with a painting of the Dauphin (young Louis XV) the Venus Room with a sculpture of Louis XIV as emperor, the Mercury Room where he slept. Bed commissioned by King Louis Phillip D Orleans, when the Palace was commissioned as a museum in 1833.Read more
