    Shopping Day 2

    13. december 2024, Japan ⋅ 🌙 5 °C

We shopped til we dropped today- well at least I did, Ange is a few years younger than me and clearly has the energy to push on longer than me 😅
We were up bright and early today, for our day of shopping at the outlets. To get here we had to line up for the dedicated bus which leaves from Shinjuku station. We took the free hotel shuttle and arrived at Shinjuku station nice and early as you can’t pre book tickets so it’s first in line (which we pretty much were). The trip took just under an hour and we arrived at Mitsui Shopping Park soon after 10am. We already had a plan in place, which included looking at all the high end stores towards the back of the outlet park, and worked our way to the front which is closer to the bus stop.
We did quite well here over the next 6 hours with some purchases for the family, and lunch at Hakodate Kantaro was a nice surprise.
We took the 4.20pm bus back to Shinjuku, but didn’t arrive back until just after 6.30pm due to bad traffic. Thankfully this still gave us enough time at the lounge for drinks and canapés (fried chicken, dumplings and salad pretty much became our dinner)
This gave us enough energy to head back out to Shinjuku and visit SHIRO at Lumine to look at some skincare products. Some purchases were made and we then wandered over to the tax refund counter to claim our tax back.
Last stop for shopping tonight was at Don Quijote in Shinjuku, where we spent almost an hour wandering through multiple floors of snack food and random skincare products, and waited for about 30min in line to pay/claim our tax back. It was 11pm by the time we walked back to the hotel - needless to say, we were exhausted after being out for so many hours. I was ready to drop into bed!
