Shopping Day 3

The shops here don’t open until 11am, so we took it nice and easy in the morning especially the craziness of Don Quijote last night!
After breakfast we took the free hotel shuttle to Shinjuku station for some planned shopping around Omotesando. We did make a quick stopover at Ange’s highly recommended French style bakery, Boul’Ange in Shinjuku Southern Terrace, a short walk Shinjuku station. Ange was desperate for one of their pastries she had last year, and I wasn’t going to get anything but… the croissant cornets looked beautiful with some amazing flavours (what else is new here?) so I grabbed a strawberry cornet. Let’s just say I could have easily eaten 3 of these 😅
We spent most of our time at the Cosme flagship store (Harajuku), browsing through the lasted Japanese beauty trends, based on the Cosme beauty awards.
We stumbled across a cute little onigiri place (port tomago onigiri) for a late lunch. Each piece is freshly made with spam and other ingredients selected from the menu.
We made our way back to Shinjuku station afterwards as we were keen to check out the shin are range at SHIRO. I first came across this Japanese brand last year in Osaka, and after testing out 3 products I couldn’t wait to come back and try more.
We caught up with some old friends for dinner at Yaikiniku Maruushi for a grilled meat cuisine. It was nice to dine somewhere less busy and hectic than Shinjuku. Our friends are locals so we let them order- eveyrthing was so delicious and reasonably priced for the quality.
After dinner we walked to Roppongi Hills to check out the Keyakizaka illumination. It was a cold night but great way to check out the local area while chatting with friends (and walk their Japanese spitz) enjoying the stunning decorations along the way. Our favourite part was seeing the sparkling lights frame Tokyo Tower.Читать далее
