Pine River to Laird Hot Springs

    May 2, 2024 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 36 °F

When we got up, Bevis and I had a nice walk down the railroad tracks to a bridge over the river. John had breakfast ready when we got back. Left about 8. Drove to Fort St John’s for gas and some groceries. Had lunch at Fort Nelson. That stretch of road is pretty uneventful. A lot of oil field activities. Flat and wide open but still pretty. Then we got into the mountains. Beautiful views and lakes. Stone Mountain Proventional park, great hiking area in the summer, with Summit Lake, which was frozen over. Then Muncho Lake, beautiful lake and very large. Saw caribou, bears , moose and elk. Stayed in Liard Hot Springs campground. $25 a night. Went to the hot springs that night. Crazy lady asking everyone if they farted.Read more
