Valley of the Queens

We continued on from the Valley of the Kings to the Valley of the Queens with its most striking tomb, that of Queen Nefertari. This tomb is noted as one on the finest in Egypt. Nefertari was the favourite wife of Rameses ll. We visited other tombs belonging to sons of Rameses lll and Queen Titi, all with beautifully preserved reliefs and paintings. On the way back to Luxor we stopped by an alabaster workshop where we were treated to a demonstration by the craftsmen accompanied by them singing!Read more
