Louisbourg

Woke up to overcast, but at least it was not raining yet.

Before the Fortress of Louisbourg, we stopped at the S&L Railway Museum. Kim, Alix, what do you think of that quilt!

The entrance to the Fortress was heart breaking...so much destruction from Hurricane Fiona! Nature is both beautiful and brutal.

On a more cheerful note, the Fortress of Louisbourg (the largest historical reconstruction in North America) was impressive! You experience what life was like in the bustling French fortified town of Louisbourg in 1744. There were costume costumed actors and reenactments. Got a charge out of their revision of rotisserie chicken! Lots of history!
