    Seafood Seller

    April 2, 2021 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 52 °F

Well it's been 11 days since I posted because we have just been working every day. Mel finally finished the gate lock while I raked and pulled slot of pine needles and leaves. We finished putting up the wire fence yesterday and then I started putting up the metal shed. Today Mel worked on the dollar panel and I continued screwing and bullying the shed.
Marcie and kids arrived around 3:30. We went over to their villa at the Plantation. Marcie and I decided to go to the Seafood Seller to see how long the wait was and there were 9 tables ahead of us. Were took a quick walk then went in to get a drink and got two seats at the bar. We had a good time,a couple of drinks and two dozen oysters before we got our table and everybody else got there! Excellent food and a boisterous crowd!

Up at 5:30 then walked the dogs. Had a bowl of cereal then started brushing again. Cleaned up behind the trailer and then attacked the nest of vines to the back right and trimmed the palmettos. Mel went to Home Depot to get the last section of fence. He wasn't back by 3:30 so I turned on the hot water heater, pulled all the bins and stuff out of the shower. Enjoyed washing up good then ran out of water right at the end. Mel got back, filed the water and took a shower then we went to Grumpy Gators for the Prime Rib special. Yum! Home with a full stomach and tired and we were in bed by 7 pm.Read more

    Morningside THU

    March 18, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

I slept for 12 hours I was so tired from kayaking. I got a late start to walking the dog's at the park and pretty much just let them run around on their own. Decided that I wasn't going to work today and sent Mel off to see about buying the trike. Told Jerry and Pat I was too tired to do anything with them today so they went to Crystal River and are at Seafood Sellers and brought us back a crab cake. Yum! We played two games of Euchre and called it a night.Read more

  • Day 23

    Morningstar WED

    March 17, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 77 °F

Up at 5 am. Waiting for the sun to rise so I can drop a load of laundry the take the dogs to the park.
Plans for today are that Jerry & Pat will pick me up at 10 am and we heading to the Chassahowitzka to kayak 7 Sisters Springs.
Jerry and Pat picked me up at 10 am and we got on the river by 11 am. Loved the sitting right by the launch and saw the otter munching on a fish but the rest I'd the river was so, so. Lots of wildlife but nothing else really interesting. parddling back against the current and the wind killed my arms and was getting painsbetween my shoulder blades. A bit too much for me and I was whipped! They dropped me off and they'll be back around 5 pm for breasts and salad for dinner and maybe some cards!
Meanwhile, Mel ran over to Floral City to check out the scooter/trike that was for sale on Marketplace. The seller messaged me and said Congrats..we are the new owners. Mel is going to come back and think he will surprise me. LOL I will act surprised!
Washed up and went to dinner at the Freezer... Crab, mussels, shrimp and cider in a breadbowl. Everything was super yummy and Jerry and Pat really enjoyed their meal. We were going to bring our order of shrimp home but we accidentally gave it to the waiter thinking it was garbage and it went in the trash. Came back to our place and played a game if Euchre. It was the boys night.

    March 16, 2021 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 68 °F

Up early and off to the dog park and did two laps then to Walmart for a few groceries. Forgot the garbage! Mel went to TSC and picked up the wire fencing material and the fitting to extend our outdoor shower hose while I wacked away at the jungle. It was hot so lots of breaks and the sprayer I bought is great for a cool off.
Jerry and Pat got here at 2:30 and we sat and chatted for an hour or so then
We went to their motel room at 4 and took a shower Ahhhhhh then walked to the freezer for dinner. Crab, shrimp, mussels and chowder Yum Yum!
We strolled around the docks at the resort, saw two manatees swimming and then had a cup of ice cream and watched the sun go down.

    Morningside MON

    March 15, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

Decided to take the dogs to the dog park for our morning stroll. Too many dogs barking and traffic here in the neighborhood. They can roam around off leash and Buster can walk at his own speed. Stopped at Ollies and picked up a few things then dropped the dogs and went back to Inverness and the Verizon store to take pics of my "important" pass code file. Stood art lies to get write fence but they were out of stock. Also washed the truck.Read more

    Morningside SUN Day 3

    March 14, 2021 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 55 °F

    Up at 6 am 51° There's a neighborhood rooster?!
I am so happy because this is like camp in the winter. Wake up in the morning and set the coffee to brew, I brush my teeth, take my pills, get dressed and feed the dogs and the coffee is ready by the time I finish.
I decided that I would go into Inverness this morning. Needed to pick up my pants from Beals and stop at Lowe's and Walmart. Went to Walmart first and found a very nice all metal fake wicker patio set and bought that. Then I wanted to go to bills but it wasn't open yet so I ran into the Verizon store to check on a cell phone booster antenna. Jason said they didn't sell them and the only worked about 50% of the time but he proceeded to go into his sales pitch and said he could give me $270 credit for my Samsung S 20 and give me an LG 5G phone and it wouldn't cost me anything and he figured how to change your plan for the same coverage for Less. I ended up walking out of there with a new phone and him owing me $8! That killed enough time and Beall's was open so I return the pants I ordered and use the $40 credit we had to buy a Columbia shirt and a champion pullover rain jacket. Ran by Home Depot on the way home and got some more miscellaneous screws and nails. Don't think I took any pictures with my new phone! Trying to recover pictures and resign into apps.

Move to Morningside FRI Day 1

    March 12, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 73 °F

Took the dogs for a short walk and started putting things away while Mel relaxed. Finally got him going around 10 am then we started talking to the new neighbors which slowed him down. Ironically they are from Homosassa via upstate New York and live in our neighborhood!
Moved out at noon and headed to Tillis Hills State Park and dumped sewer.
We arrived at our property around 1 pm and after Mel started listening to my directions we got the trailer tucked into place. We thought we cleared enough but where the deck is going it's pretty rough so we finished setting up and decided to go to Home Depot to get decking materials and the fencing at around 6 p.m. It to a while loadng the treated 2x4's and plywood onto carts by ourselves'then hold ups at checkout for the Rigid floor model sawzall... Then cashier didn't know how to look up the 6'x8' wood fencing we wanted. Just because there was absolutely no offer of help, even outside to load the truck, we took an additional piece of fencing!
Stopped and got ice cream along the way and Mel remembered he was suppose to get a special plug adapter to plug the trailer in. No AC tonight and have to let the generator run for his C-pap machine and the large fan.
We're very pleased with the Generac generator!
Bushed again tonight. Taking tomorrow off and then going out for dinner and a beer!
