• Church With the Crooked Spire

    The Church of St. Mary and All Saints in Chesterfield is famous for its crooked spire. It was built in the late 13th century. The spire leans 9 feet 5 inches from its true center. The bottom timbers of the tower decayed and the 32 tons of lead tiles were heavy enough to make it crooked over time.

    Chesterfield has named their football (soccer) team the Spireites!
