Punta Arenas 🇨🇱

After three days at sea, we made it to Punta Arenas, Chile! 🇨🇱 We arrived early in the morning with beautiful sunshine and took a water taxi to the port which turned out to be our life boats from the cruise. At least, we know now that they work in case of an emergency. 😅 The ship offers many shore excursions, also one for $2,200 to take a flight to Puerto Natales to see the Torres del Paine national park, the most famous park in Patagonia. Unfortunately, it was already sold out because this day trip would have been totally in our budget (*sarcasm off*) 🙃 But thankfully, we will visit this area again in a few weeks, so stay tuned. 🥰

We decided to go to the Reserva Nacional Magallanes for a hike instead and took a taxi (~10 minutes) to the entrance from the city center. The entry fee was 7,500 pesos (~7,50€) per person.

The hike had some pretty nice views over the town, took us through a forest and was easy to do.

We hitchhiked back with a lovely couple from England that were in the area for a wedding.

Back at the ship, we had something to eat and ended the day in a hot tub session on the deck. 🍷

Nach drei Tagen auf See sind wir endlich in Punta Arenas, Chile angekommen! 🇨🇱 Früh am Morgen legten wir bei strahlendem Sonnenschein an und wurden mit einem Wassertaxi an Land gebracht. Diese entpuppten sich als die Rettungsboote unseres Kreuzfahrtschiffs – immerhin wissen wir jetzt, dass sie im Notfall funktionieren. 😅

Das Schiff bot eine Vielzahl an Landausflügen an, darunter auch einen für stolze 2.200 US-Dollar. Dieser beinhaltete einen Flug nach Puerto Natales, um den berühmten Torres-del-Paine-Nationalpark in Patagonien zu besichtigen. Leider war dieser Ausflug bereits ausgebucht, was wirklich schade war, da er ja perfekt in unser Budget gepasst hätte (Ironie aus). 🙃 Glücklicherweise werden wir diese Region in ein paar Wochen noch einmal besuchen, also bleibt dran! 🥰

Stattdessen entschieden wir uns für einen Ausflug in die Reserva Nacional Magallanes, um dort eine kleine Wanderung zu unternehmen. Mit einem Taxi ging es in etwa zehn Minuten vom Stadtzentrum zum Parkeingang. Der Eintritt kostete 7.500 chilenische Pesos (ca. 7,50 €) pro Person.

Die Wanderung führte uns durch einen Wald und bot tolle Ausblicke auf die Stadt. Die Strecke war leicht zu bewältigen und ideal für einen entspannten Ausflug.

Zurück in die Stadt nahm uns ein älteres Ehepaar aus England mit, die für eine Hochzeit in der Gegend waren.

Zurück auf dem Schiff gönnten wir uns eine Mahlzeit, bevor wir den Tag mit einer Runde im Whirlpool auf dem Deck ausklingen ließen. 🍷 Czytaj więcej
