Caesarea Phillipi

Caesarea Phillipi is nearly uninhabited and an archaeological site in the northern Golan Heights. A city of Greek-Roman culture, it is known for its worship of pagan gods. It is located at the base of Mt. Hermon.
It was here in the area that Peter made his confession of Christ's deity. His confession was in response to Jesus' question as written in Matthew 16:13,16 "Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"..."
