Split

Drove directly to Split from Krk. Mostly a coastal road with rugged coastline except for periodic small townships dotted down the coast. Then inland to the autobahn and a quick dash south.
Split is very old with the old town established by the Roman's in the 3rd century. Initially the main parts constructed by emperor Diocletian after they took it over from the greeks.
Kronos he percussion the Christians but today's churches were built over the top of the Roman temples!
First day Annie and Agnes went for a swim and then we went down town and wandered around the old town before fish and chips at an Irish pub!
Walked about 8.5 km
Second day. A quiet day as we decided to have a rest day. Reading books and lying on the beach. Pasta dinner at apartment. Beer on the beach, coffee and overcame at a nice bar with a view. Walked about 4 km.
