    On the road

Left Camperdown Castle around 9. The drive is very pleasant hardly any traffic. It is 10.30 and we just passed Hydro Majestic .

  • Morning Tea

    November 17, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Morning tea break at McDonald's Lithgow about half way. No truck or trailer parking here so we took up 4 spaces.

It won't be long now, just about in Mudgee.

  • Big 4 Mudgee

    November 17, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

The drive for John was easy no traffic and fairly good roads.

The caravan park is very basic and the tent is on dirt. I think we might be the only tent all other sites have vans.

Tent is basically up now just putting up shelves and making it look like we are glamping rather than camping.

Now for a swim a tad cold but refreshing after putting up the tent.

  • Mudgee Honey

    November 19, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

A short drive from the Big 4 to Mudgee Honey. Here we tasted some Honey mead. We were not sure if we liked this. There was no honey tasting because of Covid but we purchased a few honey's for cheese, toast and tea. I tried and purchased some honey moisturiser. Now for a coffee and milkshake, no cakes.Read more

  • Baker William Distillery

    November 19, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Baker William Distillery is a micro distillery located just outside Mudgee town centre. They make handcrafted spirits and liqueurs focusing on regional flavours. They opened in September 2012.

In the beginning Nathan Williams said let's build a disillery and Helen Baker said let's make butterscotch snapps and the rest is history as they say.

It was hard to decide what to select so we purchased 5 different bottles.

  • Peter Van Gent

    November 19, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Next we visited Peter Van Gent wineries which were established about 35 years ago which was around the last time we visited Mudgee.

The winery was set up using Chardonnay cuttings from Craigmoore Vineyard, the oldest in Australia.

The winery had a good selection of fortified wines which of course we purchased a few.

  • At the Campground

    November 20, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Stayed around the camp site today, this holiday was more about a rest. Just a shame the camp ground is not that appealing.

After breakfast we had coffee at an aboriginal Cafe right next door the the camp ground. The food and surroundings are great.

Back for lunch and a swim.

Gina a Phillip dropped by to check out our tent then we went to Mudgee Club for afternoon tea.

We hit Woolworths for some last minute grocery items and back to our tent for dinner and a movie.

  • Aboriginal Dinner Show

    November 21, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

Tonight we went back to aboriginal Cafe for dinner and a show. Whilst the show was not that professional it was still very interesting. We both had hamburger, John a roo burger and Carol slow cooked lamb in spices. The desert was just a yummy pretty chocolate tart.Read more

  • Packing up

    November 22, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Up early as it is pack up day. We did some yesterday which helped but guess what it is raining, well a light shower. Due to the rain it took a little longer than it should of because we could not leave things outside or start parking the trailer.

Once the rain shower finished we could finish packing.

All done and on the road.
