We are going to take a holiday in this great country of ours this time around.
We are travelling the coast road to Batehaven to visit Richard and Bronwyn.

Morning Tea at McDonald's. Yummy chocolate cake and strawberry donut with a free seniors cappuccino. Service a bit slow but the coffee is pretty good.

Batehaven is an easy drive from Sydney and our lovely friends Richard and Bronwyn live there. So on the road trip to Victoria it made total sence to visit them and stay overnight. We enjoy catching upBaca lagi

What an easy drive to the border just us listening to ABBA.
The roads are so much better than Nepal although we did come across a small section of dusty roads.
PengembaraGood soundtrack! You might have to get yourselves one of those big campervans for your next Aussie road trip.

Arrived safe and sound just a very basic apartment but has all we need for 1 night
Unpacked a couple of things then into town for fish and chips for dinner.

The apartment in Lakes Entrance was not bad for a night. Leaving now for Sorrento which is a 4 hour drive.
I am driving first this morning listening to Human Nature and the Bee Gees.

All checked in, not a bad room but at double the price of last night's. Not sure it is worth it but it is a pretty town and the room does have a wonderful view. It would be lovely sitting outsideBaca lagi

PengembaraYes I did use slices of bread for the pastry. Simple and easy. I even cooked eggs for break the next morning in the pie maker.
Ferry to Queenscliff

On the road again. This time we are catching the Ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff. Destination Apollo Bay.
The trip takes 40min and cost $80

Now on the Ferry. Pretty impressive but it is empty. I am guessing not the busy season. Morning on the water will be very relaxing and quite scenic.

Very pretty drive even though it is quite overcast. Lots of roadwork which meant it was difficult to pull over into the lookouts because trucks and roadwork machinery had taken up the space andBaca lagi

We are staying in and Airbnb tonight. It is very cute. 1 load of washing on and drinking hot chocolate.
The Airbnb is like a large fancy shed it has corrugated iron sheets as walls. Very quirkyBaca lagi

It is not raining this morning but it is cold, 11 degrees.
We plan on taking our time and stopping at tourist spots along the way.
Cape Otway Lighthouse

First tourist stop this morning was a 12 km detour off the Great Ocean Road. It was very windy up at the lighthouse the wind was 63km and we were told that it can get up to 130km. We certainly wereBaca lagi

Back on the road driving through the Great Otway National Park. The trees are huge and the wind has created a bit of a mess all over the road with fallen leaves, bark and branches.

We have arrived at the 12 Apostles, cold and windy but no rain. There are only 8 remaining now and glad we visited before erosion from the wind and sea result in the collapse of further stacks.

The Arch

The Arch is 6km west of Port Campbell and is a naturally sculptured arch which stands 8 metres high and is very cool. The waves crashing around the base of the arch is very impressive.
London Bridge
