Wir sind früh in Caete-Acu aufgestanden und 45 Minuten durch das Dorf zum Beginn des Weges gelaufen. Nun geht es 1 h, 400 Hm bergauf, größtenteils noch im Schatten des Bergs. Anschließend 1 h über das Plateau bis zum Fumaca Wasserfall. Die Gischt kommt uns schon entgegen und bringt Abkühlung. Die Aussicht ist grandios. Um den 400 m hohen Wasserfall zu sehen, legen wir uns auf den Bauch und robben zur Felskante. Als die Wolken verschwinden, erscheint auch noch ein Regenbogen am Wasserfall. Viel Schmetterlinge gelangen durch den Aufwind vom unteren Tal auf das Hochplateau. 3 Minuten vom Wasserfall entfernt machen wir vor dem Rückweg eine lange Pause an einer Badestelle.

We got up early in Caete-Acu and walked for 45 minutes through the village to the start of the path. Now it's a 1 hour, 400 m uphill walk, mostly still in the shadow of the mountain. Then 1 hour across the plateau to the Fumaca waterfall. The spray is already coming towards us and brings cooling. The view is magnificent. To see the 400 m high waterfall, we lie on our stomachs and crawl to the edge of the rock. As the clouds disappear, a rainbow appears at the waterfall. Many butterflies are carried by the updraft from the lower valley to the high plateau. 3 minutes from the waterfall, we take a long break at a swimming spot before heading back.Read more
