Friendly Finland

At the airport, having just spent the last three days in Helsinki. A beautiful city- a combination of both modern and heritage buildings. Quite an affluent city with many expensive shops- so many for a city smaller than Brisbane! Did the walk around the city as well as visited Suomenlinna island fortress and the medieval town of Porvoo, situated about and hour east of Helsinki. They had a great light show in the city the other night too called LUX.
We’ve many many nice people on our travels and run into heaps of Australians around the place- I guess where else do you go but to a cold country to escape the heat? It’s average minus 2 degrees the last few days- quite mild for them- I’ve been enjoying it a lot!
Off to the UK for our last weekend- then fly back on Monday- our holiday is nearly over😢.
