El Calafate - Hike On Perito Moreno

After we arrived on the other side with the ship, we went to a little camp in the hills. There, the guides gave us gloves and hats because the glacier is very cold.
I had my own with me.

Then we walked to the camp right at the foot of the glacier, where we received special spikes for our shoes. We used the little break for a few photos.

Then the hike began. It's very strange to walk with the spikes on the feet. We were told to ram the shoes hard into the ice and hiked like this for about 90 minutes over the glacier - simply breathtaking !!

The guides had a surprise for us at the end of the trail - a whiskey to drink with REAL glacier ice! Then, we took the ship back to the bus and from there to El Calafate.

The guys had prepared an Asado with friends in the evening and I was very hungry after this long, exciting day!Read more
