Arrival

After 10h i have finally arrived in Mexico. Meanwhile I am used to such flight times and so the time goes by quite quickly. I organized my bus ticket directly at the airport and ended up in Tulum a few hours later without any problems. Mexico has a broad network of ADO busses which are super comfortable and air conditioned but also quite expensive. I see already that my transport costs will be much higher than what i have experienced in Costa Rica. The first thing i did was to look for a restaurant to get some Tacos - luckily not a difficult task in this country. After i devoured several Tacos al pastor, i made my way to the hostel in the dark. Tulum is quite save so i didnt worry to much. Well that said i came across a place where a man was shot dead a day before - well welcome in Mexico. When i arrived at the hostel i got a shower and joined a group of people at the group table of the hostel. I immediately met super nice people, among which, of course, was a german - Isabelle, who had funnily exactly the same travel route planned as me with a similar time schedule.

Nach 10 Stunden bin ich endlich in Mexiko angekommen. Mittlerweile bin ich an solche Flugzeiten gewöhnt und so vergeht die Zeit wie im Flug - hehe. Mein Busticket habe ich direkt am Flughafen organisiert und bin wenige Stunden später problemlos in Tulum angekommen. Mexiko hat ein gut ausgebautes Netz an ADO-Bussen, die super bequem und klimatisiert, aber auch recht teuer sind. Ich sehe schon, dass meine Transportkosten deutlich höher sein werden als in Costa Rica. Als Erstes suchte ich mir ein Tacoladen (Taqueria) – zum Glück kein Problem in diesem Land. Nachdem ich mehrere Tacos al Pastor verdrückt hatte, machte ich mich im Dunkeln auf den Weg zum Hostel. Tulum ist recht sicher, also machte ich mir keine großen Sorgen. Ironischerweise latschte ich direkt an einem Tatort vorbei, wo gestern anscheinend ein Mann erschossen wurden - so viel dazu...Mexiko halt. Im Hostel angekommen, duschte ich und setzte mich zu einer Gruppe an den Gruppentisch. Ich lernte sofort super nette Leute kennen, darunter natürlich auch eine Deutsche – Isabelle, die lustigerweise genau die gleiche Reiseroute und einen ähnlichen Zeitplan hatte wie ich.Read more
