Quetzaltenango

Today Maddi and me travelled to Quetzaltenango (Xela) where our 3 day hike to Lake Atitlan is gonna start tomorrow. For that we booked us a direct shuttle from Antigua to Xela, which left us at our sleeping place directly at the organisation which we gonna hike with - Quetzaltrekkers. I randomly found an advertisement on Facebook about this hike while still being in germany and it sounded so amazing that it was highest priority for me to do that. We just visited a bit the city and prepared our equipment for the next day. That's it for the day. I wish i had more time here because Xela is actually histprically a very important city and here is lots to see, but well thats how it is. For those who wonder where we left Isabelle, she had to stay in Antigua so she can prepare for a very important job interview at the UN.

Heute sind Maddi und ich nach Quetzaltenango (Xela) gereist, wo morgen unsere 3-tägige Wanderung zum Atitlan See beginnen wird. Dafür haben wir uns einen Platz in einem privaten Shuttle Bus gebucht der uns direkt zu unserem Schlafplatz bei der Organisation Quetzaltrekkers gebracht hat. Ich bin noch in Deutschland auf Facebook auf eine Anzeige für diese Wanderung gestoßen und das klang so episch, dass es für mich oberste Priorität war das zu machen. Ich wünschte, ich hätte mehr Zeit hier gehabt, denn Xela ist historisch gesehen eine sehr wichtige Stadt und es gibt hier viel zu sehen, aber so ist es nun mal. Wer sich fragt, wo wir Isabelle gelassen haben: Sie musste in Antigua bleiben, um sich auf ein sehr wichtiges Vorstellungsgespräch bei der UN vorzubereiten.Read more
