    Dubai Airport

    August 25, 2015 in the United Arab Emirates ⋅ ☀️ 42 °C

Connection to Barcelona, 3 hrs, flying with Emirates.
The airport was a bit disappointing, not what we expected, but Emirates is a fantastic airline.

  • Barcelona,

    August 25, 2015 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Darling Pantxoa came to meet us at the airport, waited together for Stefano and we all went to ibis budget hotel for the night.

  • Basque country

    August 26, 2015 in France ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Pantxoa's family is accommodating us generously. We're staying at Tina's house, which is 5.2km from Pantxoa's family's house. So, I'm supposed to get over my fears and ride a bike!
Had a fantastic welcoming dinner, with all his family (including 4 cousins), exchanged gifts (felt a bit like christmas).
Amazing, fantastic, gorgeous place & people.
Out of this world food, abundance of good seafood, cheese, bread, wine, beer...
    I don't want to leave.

  • Bilbao, Spain

    September 1, 2015 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

    Visiting the renowned Guggenheim.
Two very interesting exhibitions: Jean Michelle Basquiat & Jeff Koons.
A bit disappointed with the museum, didn't feel it was flowing, the lighting was terrible at the Basquiat exhibition & architecturaly couldn't understand the stone part of the building, which had no connection to the fabulous steel part of the structure.Read more

On our way from Basque to Italy, crossing beautiful countryside and the Alps :)

  • Casa di Stefano & Pantxoa

    September 5, 2015 in Italy ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Wow, our fantastic home for the time being (until we get thrown out or decide to leave).
Green all around, our own private apartment, a swimming pool, a bike to explore with (or scooter) and great company.
We met so many new people already and have so many new invitations, it's overwhelming.
The first few days, so far, have been tranquil and restorative. But it won't go on fo long, they have so may plans for us... fantastic :)
    I love Europe.

  • Ravenna, Italy

    September 15, 2015 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Traveled more than 7 hours by train (with 2 connections) to meet up with Maya & Roie!
They're staying at his brother's new home in Pesaro for the holiday and leaving on Thursday, so it had to be today and, of course, it had to be!
I was so excited I cried when I saw & hugged them, after dreaming about them the entire previous night.
A fantastic day because everything is worth their company, even a very boring place like Ravenna... it kind of made us appreciate even more "our" house, because wevare lucky that this village has great things around snd walking distance.

Back in the north, sad to leave them but we all had to.
Another bonus was that we finally took the bike - the 1300cc bmw monster. It was a bi5 stressful at first, but we're glad we have this vehicle at our disposal :)Read more

  • The Dolomites, Italy - Austria

    September 18, 2015 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Just a quick pop over to the amazing mountains, graciously spending the (very) cold nights at Stefano's sister's house (one of many around Europe).
Basically it's Tyrol, so it's a bit more of a german/austrian feel than italian.
Fantastic landscapes, architecture, flora... picturesque place.
We had a perfect day (Saturday) for the planned bicycle ride from Dobbiaco to Leinz. Joseph and I rode on a tandem bike and really enjoyed it (though at the end of the day I felt as if I had really rough sex, my crotch and ass hurt baaaaad). 47 km! Felt like a breeze. We stopped on the way for a small coffee and a mediocre- cake at the beautiful café at the Loacker factory, then to smoke some, then for a light lunch and at Leinz we indulged on ice cream :)
Took the train back to Dobbiaco, had Spritz, went to shower and for a very lovely dinner at a small local restaurant.
The guys recommended a certain dish that we naturally ordered and were very surprised to realize it's actually extremely similar to Kneidalach. Even the name- canoodel.
After we placed our order we finally gave the guys the Handpresso travel set we bought for them (which arrived on Thursday) and they were really exvited about it. We already planned to go to Paolo's bar and prepare coffee there with the set, hehehe.
Oh, and last but not least- naturally we left the house later than anticipated and stopped so many times for a Spritz that we arrived (safely) very very late at night.

  • Vittorio Veneto, Italy

    September 20, 2015 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Closing night of Stefano's fabulous exhibition, alongside a nice vintage and second hand market.
Finally got to taste the famous ice cream they raved about (yes, it's fabulous), and.... MDMA!!
Finally! At first we took a bit and waited, when not much happened (except feeling a bit high/stoned) we came for more, and then it hit, wow.
At first I felt as if all my senses were underwater or under a blanket of cotton. And then I yawned alot and realized that my ears were blocked. Colors were much brighter and vivid, everything was interesting, intriguing and lovely.
At evening Ginah, and excellent band, played in a courtyard behind the gallery.
We took more, enjoyed the music immensely, drank with the guys and all their fabulous friends and understood (again) what parties are, really.
We left at around 2:30, came home, ate some rolls (finally, they were supposed to be our dinner on friday but we were too tired and drunk when we arrived at the Dolomites), took some more and went to bed. I love this drug, I would really like to take more, perhaps in a different situation.
