  • Day 33 - Burg auf Fehmarn

    September 22, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

Today I tried hiking out of Copenhagen to Hamburg, but it took me 5 hours to get to the next gasstation on the motorway...
Fortunately I found a guy there who was so friendly to give me a lift to the ferry even though he didn't have to drive these 130km. When I came there I tried hitching a car there to not pay for the boat, but in the evening there came max 10 cars, so that I went 15 min before the start to the docking station & had to buy me a ticket for 10 €...
When I wanted to board the door closed right in front of me, so that I waited another 40min & watched the sunset.
Back in Germany I hiked to Burg 7km in the dark next to the Bundesstraße bc of the darkness. I was controlled by the police twice, where they told me to go next to the street, but since I didn't want to break my legs I just went on & dumpsterd a really good dinner, before sleeping in my warm, dry Germany in the outside.

  • Day 41 - Ziegendorf

    September 30, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

After a long necessary sleep we had some lovely breakfast and an interesting exchange about student life in Greifswald and my traveling experiences, together with a jam session and music by peace boy. After lunch I packed my stuff & went to a non-violent action training since the rebellion wave is going to start on the 05.10. In Berlin. I met some interesting activistis there & felt my body responding strongly to the vibes of civil unrest. I'm thinking of joining the fight, but on the other hand there is Danni being demolished & that place is just next to my route to Frankfurt. So we'll see where I'm going to.
In the evening I've been shopping in the closed Netto (since there is most often food to be found) & drove back to my parents place to rest the evening before I'll start tomorrow to Jena on my way to an old friend of mine in baveria.
Fortunately all my papers are done now so that I'm able to go on my world trip for sure and with this knowledge I'm gonna have some apple rings now & a good night rest.

Today I hitched with only 3 lifts to Bavaria. This morning started a little hard bc the last wine yesterday was one too much. We're going to cook now & lay the base for good Bavarian beer which we'll enjoy in their selfbuild cabin.Read more

  • Day 45 - Oberseilberg

    October 4, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌙 11 °C

Yesterday we worked the whole day to isolate the floor of Daniel's new home, in the evening we relaxed & played a round of Risiko. I've got to say, even though I might be a strategic, this militaristic reasoning is not my best skill. (also I'm a huge fan of the rebels!)
Today we had some breakfast & after a few hours of cleaning the construction side, we ordered some traditional Bavarian food & got ready for a soccer match this afternoon. I'm totally not fit anymore & my soccer skills didn't increase by chance. Right now I'm resting my muscles, but tonight we'll finish the game of Risiko & go for a few races with Mario!

    October 5, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Today I started in Oberseilberg at 7:15 with Daniel on the way to his work. From freyung to deckendorf I got lucky and never stood long + I got a coffee at the gas station there so I completely renewed to get to Nürnberg with only 2 lifts. Paul (my British driver) also gifted me a pack of tabak and lovely stories about his life.
In Nürnberg I went to the klimacamp and met some fellow FFF activists to have a chat and get to know the town. Afterwards I went to Erlangen and visited the city after resting at a lake in the countryside.
Tonight I'm staying here after my host shared a beer with me in the Irish pub and a great conversation about his travelings in Panama and his home turkey and Cyprus.
Tomorrow I'll visit Erlangen and go once more to Nürnberg, before I've got to go to Frankfurt on Wednesday.

  • Day 48 - Nürnberg

    October 8, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

The climate activistis of Nürnberg have greeted me warmly today. My start with a new vélo began early at 9 with some nature & after lunch with Matthis (my host) I biked in the town to the Rathaus, where I attended a few workshops at the climate camp and had great talks with individuals in between the breaks. Unfortunately with the critical wave in Berlin the camp had fewer people there, but with Covid that was reasonable. After that I cycled to two castles in the town & rested in one of the parks, before I got home after my 25 km tour, just in time to meet up with Matthis for dinner & an episode Rotten about the abuse & dirty money in the honey industry. Afterwards we chilled a while, before I skated in town to shop some food & found great Vollmichschokolade, which I can use as a guest gift the next days.Read more

  • Day 67 - Potsdam

    October 26, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

I had a really nice safed breakfast this morning with the WG & was quite sad to say goodbye. After an hour walking towards the outer city I got a lift (in the wrong direction to Halle), then it started raining & I got a lift after 1,5h waiting again in the wrong direction (to Osterfeld). Finally I got a ride to the A10 exit Potsdam with a Pastor from Bavaria, with whom I had some inspiring discussions. Arriving at the Autohof, it was dark & I thought I had to walk 20km to the city center, but fortunately I got picked up after an hour & was at my host just in time for dinner & a nice conversation over a bottle of wine.Read more
