Goodbye WFDF

Heute war mein letzter Arbeitstag. Das heißt ganz viel passiert zum letzten Mal.🥹 Da musste ich die Chance nutzen, um wenigstens einmal bei den goldigen Damen anzuhalten, die JEDEN Tag am gleichen Ort leckere Mini-Kokos-Pancakes zubereiten. Auf Arbeit gab es auch noch einiges final fertigzustellen und zu übergeben.

Nach Feierabend habe ich mit Hilfe von Tookta eine kleine Abschiedsrunde im Lao-Style für das Team organisiert. Das ist hier super easy - man fährt mit dem Auto an den Laden ran, bestellt aus dem Auto heraus und bekommt die Sachen direkt eingeladen. Und natürlich haben wir überall und ohne große Wege alles gefunden was wir brauchen. Ohne Supermarkt. Während der Runde wurde versucht dem Lütten beizubringen, wie man einen Kronkorken mit einer zweiten Flasche öffnet (Praktikant, Vater ist Logistikleiter bei Beerlao!!!!).

Im Anschluss wurde ich vom Management Team noch zum Abendessen eingeladen, welches mit Karaoke und einem letzten Drink im WindWest endete. Ein schöner Abschluss einer guten Zeit. Resümee folgt.

Die nächste Woche werde ich im Süden verbringen. Meinen Plan A habe ich aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen leider verworfen - aktuell regnet es nicht nur oft heftig, es kommen auch starke Gewitter dazu. Da macht eine mehrtägige Trekkingtour im bergigen und bewaldeten Norden nur halb so viel Spaß.😉 also doch lieber Wasserfälle. Der Plan: Roller mieten und losfahren. Der Rest wird sich ergeben. Falls ihr nichts von mir hört sitze ich im besten Fall mit Einheimischen im Fischerboot.🙃 ich werde berichten.

Today was my last day at work at WFDF. That means a lot has happened for the last time. 🥹 I had to take the chance to stop at least once at the cute ladies marketstand, who prepare delicious mini coconut pancakes at the same place EVERY day. At work there was also a lot to finish and to hand over.

After work, I organized a small Lao-style farewell party for the team with the help of Tookta. It's super easy here - you drive up to the store in your car, order from the car and the items are loaded straight away. And of course we found everything we needed everywhere and without having to go far. Without supermarket. During the round, attempts were made to teach Diogo how to open a crown cap with a second bottle (intern, father is logistics manager at Beerlao!!!!).

Afterwards, the management team invited me to dinner, which ended with karaoke and a last drink at WindWest. A nice end to a good time. Summary follows.

I will spend the next week in the south. Unfortunately, I discarded my plan A due to the weather conditions - at the moment it's not only raining heavily, there are also heavy thunderstorms. A multi-day trekking tour in the mountainous and wooded north is only half as much fun. 😉 So rather waterfalls. The plan: rent a scooter and drive off. The rest will follow.
