Khao Yai II

Auf dem Plan heute steht ein Tag Trekking im Nationalpark. Dafür sind wir früh in der gleichen Gruppe wie gestern Abend gestartet.

Unsere Guide (ist das richtig gegendert?😜) Noi ist so goldig, einfach 10/10 Punkte. Sie versprüht so viel Energie und Lebensfteude und hat uns viel zu Flora und Fauna, aber auch über die Thai-Kultur erklärt. Das Vogelrufe nachmachen haben wir auch mit ihr getestet, muss ich jedoch noch üben.😅 Nicht Noi ihre Stärke waren die Essensbestellungen, das war etwas wild, aber so konnte jeder mal etwas probieren, was er gar nicht geordert hat.😁

Leider ist es uns über den Tag nicht geglückt, einen der hier wild lebenden Elefanten oder Gibbons zu sehen, dafür hat sich uns immer wieder eine große Familie Makaken präsentiert und uns argwöhnisch beäugt. Da wir im Dschungel und somit in deren zu Hause und nicht im Zoo sind, hatte ich dazu aber auch keine Erwartungshaltung. Und fair enough, dass sich die Tierchen bei den aktuellen Temperaturen (über 40 Grad am Tag) kaum bewegen.

Der Khao Yai NP ist riesig und super grün und ich lieb‘s, hier zu sein. Daraus ist am Vormittag auch die Idee geboren, einfach hier zu bleiben und mit Viola und Christian auf dem Campground zu übernachten. Gesagt getan - über unseren Touranbieter den Trip einen Tag verlängert und das Hostel informiert. Es fühlt sich großartig an, so spontan einfach dort bleiben zu können, wo es schön ist.

Neben uns lebte dort allerlei Wild, vor dem man sich schonmal erschreckt wenn es in das Zelt hineinschaut. Da es zeitig dunkel wird und es auf dem Campground nicht so viele Möglichkeiten der Abendgestaltung gab, war der Tag dann auch schnell vorbei. Dafür habe ich noch eine Weile den Sternenhimmel bei guten Gesprächen sehr genossen.

We also tried imitating bird calls with her, but I still need to practice.😅 Noi's strength was not ordering food, that was a bit wild, but that way everyone could try something they hadn't actually ordered.😁

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to see any of the wild elephants or gibbons here during the day, but a large family of macaques kept presenting themselves to us and eyeing us suspiciously. But since we are in the jungle and therefore in their home and not in the zoo, I had no expectations of that. And fair enough, the animals hardly move at the current temperatures (over 40 degrees during the day).

The Khao Yai NP is huge and super green and I love being here. That morning, that gave rise to the idea of ​​simply staying here and spending the night at the campground with Viola and Christian. No sooner said than done - I extended the trip by a day through our tour operator and informed the hostel. It feels great to be able to stay where it's nice so spontaneously.

On the Campground some kinds of deer lived next to us, and you can sometimes get scared of them when they look into the tent. Since it gets dark early and there aren't many options for evening entertainment at the campground, the day was over quickly.
