Wat Phra Kaew Bangkok

Heute ist Abreisetag! Aber der Flieger geht um 00:50, daher habe ich noch den ganzen Tag Zeit.

Nach einer kurzen Nacht (weil noch ewig auf eine freie Waschmaschine gewartet, ich weiß, ich bin irre😉) hieß es also packen. Den Rucksack lasse ich im Hostel und darf auch abends noch duschen gehen - Check.

Erste Station heute war der Markt, auf dem wir vor dem Kochkurs waren. Hier habe ich ca. 5 kg frische Früchte gekauft, im den Urlaub zu Hause ein paar Tage, zumindest kulinarisch zu verlängern.

Danach ab zum Königspalast, DEM Wahrzeichen der Stadt, bevor ich das Land verlasse ohne dort gewesen zu sein. Es ist eine riesen Ablage, mit allerlei verschiedenen Tempeln und dem Palast selbst. Durch die vielen verschiedenen Tempel und Besucher war es ein wenig wie ein Wimmelbild, aber ein paar ruhige Motive konnte ich doch finden. Ich bin hier ein schlechter Tourist, denn ich komme nur gucken und habe mich nicht per Audioguide oder ähnlich zur Geschichte informiert, insofern kann ich euch gar nicht mit Fakten beglücken. Aber war schön.

Ein letztes Mal hab ich mich danach noch mit Thomas getroffen auf ein Kokoseis/Maracujasmoothie. Hab ihm direkt meine gekauften Gummibärchen für seinen Freund Nico vermacht, Hauptsache ich bin sie los. Da die berühmt berüchtigte Khaosan Road gleich um die Ecke ist, sind wir da nochmal drüber geschlendert - ein reinstes Touri-Paradies und eine kleine Hölle für mich.😉 da ist so gar nichts authentisch, wie die Strandpromenade in Bulgarien oder ähnliches. Am Tag wurden uns hier Tattoos, Massagen und Maßanzüge angeboten, nachts dreht sich das Angebot wohl. Bin nicht traurig, dass ich hier nicht mehr Zeit verbracht habe.

Today is departure day! But the plane leaves at 00:50, so I still have the whole day.

After a short night (because I waited ages for a free washing machine, I know, I'm crazy 😉) it was time to pack. I left my backpack in the hostel and was allowed to take a shower in the evening - check.

First stop today was the market we went to before the cooking class. Here I bought about 5 kg of fresh fruit to extend my vacation at home by a few days, at least in culinary terms.

Then off to the Royal Palace, THE landmark of the city, before I leave the country without having been there. It is a huge place with all kinds of different temples and the palace itself. With so many different temples and visitors it was a bit like a hidden object picture, but I was able to find a few quiet motifs. I'm a bad tourist here because I'm just here to look and haven't found out about the history via an audio guide or something similar, so I can't give you any facts. But it was nice.

Afterwards I met up with Thomas one last time for a coconut ice cream/passion fruit smoothie. I gave him the gummy bears I had bought for his friend Nico, as long as I got rid of them. Since the infamous Khaosan Road is just around the corner, we strolled over it again - a pure tourist paradise and a little hell for me. 😉 There is nothing authentic about it, like the beach promenade in Bulgaria or similar. During the day we were offered tattoos, massages and tailor-made suits, but at night the offer seems to change. I'm not sad that I didn't spend more time here.Read more
