Flight #1 ✅

After a 2:45am wake up call for a 5am flight - we have landed in Toronto!
Flight #2 ✅

Well, luggage tracker tags work pretty well! We know now that one of our bags was left behind in Toronto. Luckily it wasn't anything super important - just clothes. All the important things (WallaceRead more
Queen Margaret University

Got back to the school safe and sound!
The Move

After sleeping for 13 hours, we moved from H to J Block! We got a tip about the big rolling bins and they made it a lot faster! I think we need these for every move we do, haha.
First Taste of Edinburgh

After the move, we spent some time exploring Edinburgh! Some errands to run at St. James Quarter, a rest in the Waterstone's Café on Prince's Street (one of the best views of the Castle), had someRead more
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

This was too much fun. It was very cool to see the Esplanade of the Castle set up like a stadium! There were military bands from all over the world that performed. Very very cool.
Kelpies

I love these big horses! Out "Discover Malt Whisky" tour made it's first stop of the day here.
Glengoyne Distillery

Our first distillery tour of the trip! Glengoyne Distillery is a Highland Whisky distillery right the Highland border. Their whisky is malted and distilled on the Highlands, but matures across theRead more
Loch Lomond

A quick stop to see Loch Lomond before lunch! Grey bonnie banks.
Deanston Distillery

Second distillery of the day! Deanston is also Highland whisky. It is very cool because the building used to be a cotton mill! It has some kind of sad history there, but a very cool modern thing isRead more
Queensferry

Just a quick stop in Queensferry to end our tour day!

Love it! Still my favourite castle/palace tour to date. There's just so much to see and take it. It's such an interesting history. We actually were able to turn our passes into year long passes asRead more
Wandering the City

After Holyrood, we just wanted to wander around and see things. We finished our bus tour and then got some food, fancy drinks from The Alchemist, and then wandered the Royal Mile. Wallace stopped in 3Read more

Loch Lubnaig - Highlands Tour Day 1

Our first mini stop of the day! A little Loch called Loch Lubnaig. Fun fact! Scotland has about 32 000 lochs (and one lake)! (I mean Saskatchewan has like 100 000, so we're no stranger to that, but SKRead more

We had a few mini stops to get to here, but our first real stop on our tour today was Glencoe. I think this is my favourite place in Scotland, and one of my favourite places in the world. It's just soRead more
The Most Scottish Thing Ever

Separate footprint because I think this is the most Scottish thing I've ever seen. Enjoy.
Urquhart Castle & Loch Ness

Apparently controlling Urquhart Castle was about as important as controlling Stirling Castle. So, when the Jacobites were losing, they blew it up. 💣 These ruins are on Loch Ness. We followed ourRead more
Inverness

And our night ends with our stay in Inverness! More to update later, but for now we're going to crash in our hotel!
An Evening in Inverness

Our evening was fairly chill because we are both getting pretty tired. We walked around Inverness a bit, across the bouncy bridge and then up to the Castle. We had dinner at a place called HighlanderRead more
Clava Cairns

These are ancient burial sites from approximately 3-4 thousand years ago. It's amazing that they've survived this long! Like, really amazing.
Culloden

Culloden was the final battleground for the Jacobite Rebellion. It was a very somber experience, but a beautiful space. I wish we had more time to explore it.
Dalwhinnie Distillery

A few drams in this shorter stop! No tour this time, only drinking. 😅
