• From rain to rays

    Our alarm clock did its cruel duty at 6:30 AM, dragging us out of bed to kick off our longest 9-hour road trip from Riga to Gdansk. The journey began with heavy rain, but as if rewarding our bravery, each passing hour peeled back the clouds, until we rolled into sunny Gdansk like weather warriors emerging victorious.

    With some daylight still to spare, we stretched our legs for a first stroll through the windy streets of Danzig (as the Germans like to call it). We even dared our first outdoor dinner of the trip—because nothing says “vacation” like battling gale-force winds for your Polish food. Sure, it was a bit nippy, but the sun was shining, and that counts! Here’s to the start of three glorious, sunshine-filled days. Summer’s making a last-minute comeback, and we’re not mad about it.
