• From Royals to Runn Lake

    2. januar, Sverige ⋅ 🌬 -3 °C

Once the New Year’s celebrations were over, the snow convinced us to head even further north. Together with Puya’s brother and his wife, we booked a night in a lakeside cabin – complete with a proper fireplace.

Our first stop was Uppsala, Sweden’s former capital. In Scandinavia’s largest cathedral, countless royals are buried – and, as tradition demands, we followed that up with breakfast at the royal bakery.

After another three-hour drive we reached Falun and our cabin overlooking the frozen Lake Runn, wrapped in fresh snow. We arrived around three in the afternoon, which in Sweden basically means nightfall. So we did the only sensible thing: sauna, followed by a dramatic cooldown in the snow ⛄️. A crackling fire and an early bedtime got us ready for yet another freezing Swedish adventure.
