    Konopiste & St Barbara's church

    November 2, 2024 in Czech Republic ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

We rented a car and drove to Konopiste, which was owned by Frank Ferdinand and Sofie from Astria. It was a summer palace/hunting lodge. Apparently, their marriage since Sofie was not a royal was considered lower, and Frank Ferdinand had to sigh that their children would not inherite the title or Habsburg money but had her title. We toured part of the palace and gardens, had lunch, and drove to an ossuary(no pictures allowed either). I had paplova at the coffee shop cross the street. It had ground walnut in the merengue. Then, we drove to Kutna Hora, 10min away, to visit St Barbara's church.
We had dinner back at the hotel. I had the mushroom ravioli, and Laura had Iberian pork cutlets.
