Last breakfast at hotel Serena and then off to Roma Termini to catch our Frecciarossa train to Florence. The train went up to 250km/h so it covered the distance in a bit over an hour.
We arrived in Florence around 1 pm, had a rest and then went for a walk to see the city. The city centre is really compact and easily walked. Most of the roads are closed to traffic anyway.
The architecture is impressive from the Duomo, the baptistery to the palazzo and ponte vecchio. The streets are narrow and filled with shops.
We did not visit the galleries because first, they were all crowded and then we are not so fond of museums. On top of that Ximena is just getting over the virus she caught in Rome. We just enjoyed walking this beautiful city.Read more
