Lake Walchensee

Long drive today, keeping ourselves entertained with our Spotify World Cup made up game! Totally worth the drive when we arrived at Lake Walchensee (aka the Bavarian Caribbean!) - one of the largest and deepest alpine lakes in Germany. Stunning views: mountains, turquoise-blue waters and classic Bavarian houses.

Staying at Camping Walchensee right on the shores of the lake. Greeted as ‘The English Ones!’ … not another GB registration in sight! Off the beaten track and heavily relying on Google translate 🤣

On our 2nd day here we headed up Mt Herzogstand via cable car followed by a short hike to reach the summit where you can see both Lakes; Kochelsee and Walchensee. Bit overcast today but stunning scenery again - mountain trails for days and cow bells ringing as background noise!
