We spent a night in this town, the northernmost point of Portugal, which was a really calm place, connected to nature, and nearby there were several landmarks one could visit.

A charming fortress near the Minho River.. If you want, you can cross the bridge to Spain, and visit the nearby city of Tui..
A tiny village near the Minho, with quiet streets and a strange castle (it had plastic spiders and other insects).
Really quiet town near both the sea and the river. Its fresh air and quiet streets were certainly its high points.
Best city I visited in this trip. When we crossed the long bridge on the sunset, it was beautiful to hear the calm sound of bells ringing from the church towers, while listening to the water flowLæs mere
